Happy Father’s Day to the man in our home

By mom4life | Category: Family Focus, The Journey of Motherhood | Posted Saturday, June 18, 2011

We are terribly blessed to have a great father in our home.  I interviewed our kids to ask them some questions about their dad and learned a few new things.  First of all, Hunter informed me that his dad’s favorite food is Broccoli and Cauliflower.  The only thing that shocked me more than that was how he followed up by saying how much he also enjoyed those foods, who knew!  Ashlyn explained that the way she knows her dad loves her is that he disciplines her, wow, what wisdom from someone so small:)!  Here is the video interview.

And here is an Animoto video that I created from snapshots taken over the last seven years as I have had the privilege of watching my husband develop into an amazing father. I hope you will enjoy this snapshot Father’s Day video!

Still looking for something to give your man for Father’s Day?  Perhaps you will enjoy some of the ideas presented in this blog post I wrote last year titled “Let’s Give Honor for Father’s Day“.

Tanner Chase is here!

By mom4life | Category: The Journey of Motherhood | Posted Thursday, June 16, 2011

I am so sorry. . .

It just occurred to me that while I have been enjoying our sweet little arrival, I have totally neglected to update you on his arrival!  Well for those of you who maybe didn’t have a chance to see the news on our facebook fan page . . .

Tanner Chase Ledeboer has arrived!

He was born on June 1 at 10:20PM and weighed 7 pounds 1o oz and was 19 inches long.

As for the name:

Tanner is simply a name that Trent and I both really liked (we went right up to the wire on this one as we couldn’t agree on a name, finally 2 weeks before I delivered we both fell in love with the name Tanner).

Chase is a family name.

Tanner has proven to be quite the “keeper”.  He latched on at first breastfeeding attempt after delivery and was back up to birth weight within days of delivery.  He sleeps well and only wakes up a few times at night to feed.  He has a head full of hair and is just as beautiful as baby boys are legally allowed to be.  His older siblings are so in love and oh so kind to him.  Even Quinten (who is 2 years old today!) is so gentle around him.

I have more photos that you can view here and soon I will have some fun family photo shoot pictures to share!

Thank you so much for the prayers that were offered during my pregnancy and delivery, it means more to me than you realize!

Juicing at home: our family’s story

By mom4life | Category: Fit 4 Life, Healthy Living, Recipes & Kitchen Tips, The Journey of Motherhood | Posted Monday, June 13, 2011

A few months ago, our family was hit with sickness.  Everyone except Trent had a runny nose, which then led to ear infections.  And although Trent was spared ear pain, he had his own share of problems because he was fighting pneumonia.  We were a pretty sad bunch.  While vegetating on the couch one afternoon during this time of sickness, we saw an infomercial for a juicer.

We didn’t have to be convinced that the benefits to juicing are extensive, but I will highlight some of the major benefits here: (more…)

Honey, it is time. . .

By mom4life | Category: The Journey of Motherhood | Posted Tuesday, May 31, 2011

I can hardly believe that it is time!

Time to get the luggage sets down from the garage and pack my hospital bag.

We are going to have a baby!  Today is going to be a big day and after being on bed rest for the last several weeks, I am pretty excited.  I am starting out with a chiropractor adjustment to make sure my hips are all aligned and ready to go and following that up with a relaxing massage.  Afterward I am getting my hair cut and then at 2:30PM I will visit with my doctor to see how dilated I am (last week Thursday I was 2 cm dilated).  There are a few different routes we could take for induction which hinge on this information and depending on how we decide to proceed I will either check into Labor and Delivery tonight or tomorrow morning.  As of today, I am 38 weeks along and for those of you who may be wondering why I will be induced, collectively my doctor, husband and I (along with prayer) decided to induce at this stage of my pregnancy as an error of caution because we were never fully able to determine the cause of Sawyer’s death.

Want to follow with me?  I will update our Mom 4 Life facebook page with details of my labor and delivery so feel free to click on over so you can join in the fun!

Thank you SO much for all your wonderful support and prayers during my pregnancy.  I can’t wait to introduce you to __________ (oh wait, you are going to have to find out the name after he is born. . . :) !

P.S. In order to give myself ample time to relax and enjoy our new little one I have pre-scheduled blog posts for the next few Mondays and have some guest posts for the next few Wednesdays.  Angela will help keep our weekly Friday giveaway posts coming.  Of course I may not be able to hold back from posting some photos and short updates but I just want you to know why there may be some blog “silence” for the next several Tuesdays and Thursdays:).

Get out of the way

By mom4life | Category: The Journey of Motherhood | Posted Wednesday, May 18, 2011

The evening of May 31st.

That is when I will go into the hospital to walk the final steps toward meeting the baby who has been making his mark on my womb for the last 36 weeks.

Two more weeks.  It seems close, surreal really.
