A special giveaway: A month supply of Dr. Sears Family Essentials drinks, snacks & supplements
By mom4life | Category: Fit 4 Life, Healthy Living, Mom 4 Life News & Giveaways
As I mentioned in my previous post about making homemade Elderberry Syrup, I am very interested in learning more about natural ways to help keep our family healthy. Like anything else, this is often best for me to take baby steps forward so that I don’t become overwhelmed or discouraged. It was fun to read comments on our facebook page from many of you who currently use elderberries and from those of you who were also excited to start. Since they grow in the wild where we live in Northern Idaho, I will now be interested in finding some of the free variety come summer!
Many of you likely fall into one of the following four categories when it comes to the subject of health and nutrition:
1) You already are very knowledgeable in the area of health and nutrition as well as alternative forms of medicine.
2) You have a growing interest in this area and have started taking some baby steps to learn more.
3) You have an interest, but thinking of “one more thing to do/learn” makes your head want to explode.
4) You have no interest.
I am in group #2. For those of you in group #1, I hope that you won’t mind as I stumble along in sharing what I learn as I go and perhaps you would even be willing to share some of your wisdom along the way. For those of you in group #4, I am probably lost your interest already, sorry. Maybe there are some other future topics we can connect on instead
. For those of you in group #3 (as well as for those in group #1 and #2) I wanted to let you know about a group of products that I recently became aware of from Dr. Sears. These products are doctor-forumlated all-natural, drinks, snacks and supplements designed to provide the essential daily nutrients. I have not yet tried their products but I soon will as they are sending me a sample of their varied product line (you too can have a chance to try some samples, keep reading to find out how). They are sending me the following:
- POPUMZ™: 100 percent all-natural popped whole grain crisps that are packed with protein to help build strong muscles, fiber for healthy digestion and Omega-3 DHA – an essential component for the growth and development of young minds and bodies

- Cool Fuel: a delicious, fortified and ready-to-drink shake that delivers the nutrition kids need to perform their best – in and out of the classroom. Made from 100 percent all-natural ingredients, the gluten- and lactose-free shakes contain no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners and 60 percent less sugar than competitive brands

- Dr. Sears Family Essentials Supplement Fruit Chews: 100 percent all-natural and fruit-based, and provide kids with optimal levels of Omega-3 DHA and essential daily nutrients to nourish their minds and bodies

What I am excited about is that their products are free of artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners. I have become very aware of the negative effects that these ingredients can have on my kids and I strive to steer clear of them whenever possible. Finding companies that share that goal really is nice to see (as it is so very rare).
The fun news is that I am not the only one that is going to get to try these products out. One of you is going to win a months supply of samples including the Dr. Sears Family Essentials drinks, snacks and supplements.
To enter to win: simply “share your thoughts” below telling me what group (of the 4 mentioned above) that you are in, why you would put yourself in that group and which of the Dr. Sears products mentioned above that you are most interested to try. I will look forward to finding out more about where we are all at in the process. One comment will be picked at random and contacted for the shipping address to send your month supply of samples. Please leave your comment by Thursday March 17th. The winner will be contacted Friday the 18th and also announced in the Weekly Giveaway post that same Friday. Good luck! Please note that for this particular giveaway, the shipping address to the winner needs to be a US address, thanks
! Congrats to Kendra who was our random winner!

I would say I am in group #2. I already know about some healthy all-natural supplements, but I am always wanting to learn more!
I would love to try the popumz for my little girls!

i’d probably fall into #2…there’s always so much to learn. the popumz look awesome for my picky eater!

I am in between group #2 and 3. I know some about it and try to learn more all the time, but making a big change right now seems like a lot to think about. It would be great to find easy ways and products to help keep my family healthier. I would like to try the supplement fruit chews.

I would say that I am in group 2.5! I was recently in group 3 and crawling my way to group 2, so definitely in the middle there. I have to say reading all of your different posts is what has been a driving push behind the change. I will hopefully be getting the supplies for the Elderberry syrup this weekend. One step at a time! I think the product I will be most interested in is the fruit chews…my kids love fruit chews but I hate buying them because of all the crap in them. Thanks for such a great offer!

I am between group 3 and 2. A lot of times the issue for our family is the cost involved with going the natural route with things as well as the lack of availability of natural products where we live. Uggghhh, makes me mad at America for making it so hard to be healthy!
I’d most like to try the Popumz

We are well on our way to becoming all natural. I think I am a 1.5
I need to switch to raw milk, but it is SO darn expensive, that I haven’t yet.
Those snacks would be PERFECT for our 3 week driving trip from Texas to our new duty station (Army move) in Alaska. I am feeiling quite challenged to still feed my family whole foods while driving and camping across the US.
Is it bad to pray I am the random girl?

I am in group two, but barely! Just in the last month I’ve started trying recipes to help reclaim my family’s nutrition, but it is a slow go. I enjoy gleaning info and recipes from Mom4Life. Your blogs are actually what got me started on this new health adventure!
I am most interested in the omega fruit chews. We do not eat fish and I’m always trying to find ways to get the omegas in. Plus my kids love fruit snacks, but I don’t buy them very often because they are expensive and full of stuff I don’t want them to have.

I am in group #2. I am definitely taking baby steps but I am having a great time learning and want to make those steps even bigger.

I’m in group 1.5.
As a single mama of four working nights I am hard pressed for time and energy to make and package wholesome snacks. Although they all sound great I’ll go with the fruit snacks as my pick. I think DHA is incredibly important and struggle to get my non-nurslings to get enough. Plus, I know not one kid who dislikes fruit snacks.

I was in group 2 while first introducing solid foods but am slipping into group 3 during this toddler stage. Fruit snacks leave no crumbs so they are great on-the-go treats on long rides. Would be great if I felt less guilty handing her a pack!

I’m in group #1. I’m always looking for nourishing foods that don’t contain colors/preservatives/additives (my kids are super sensitive to these). I think the cool fuel looks like something my kids would be excited to try.

I am in level 1. We practice most of the time…
I would love to try the fuel drinks. My youngest is very picky with drinks and would love to get something good for him. Great giveaway!!

I am probably in between two and three. Taking baby steps but still feel like my head is going to explode with everything there is to learn and learn to incorporate into our lives. I would definitely love to try all the products and feel a little less guilty when I handed my three year old something for a snack. He can be reeally picky so it wouldbe nice to try something he will like and know it’s good for him at the same time.

I am about a 2. Would love to become a 1! I have been wanting to try the Dr. Sears stuff!

I am smack dab between group 1 and 2. I have been a big fan of natural healing and holistic care for illness. We may need to go gluten- and dairy- free for a time for at least one of our kids. I would be interested in the supplements or shakes.
[Reply]
I’m between 1 and 2… I’ve had to learn a lot to help my family, esp my kids, but I think there’s always more to learn! I’m especially interested in the Fruit Chews.

I am definitely in group 1
Well, without the alternative medicine mastery. We’re just starting into that. Our health change started 6 years ago, and we have gradually sifted many things out of our diet. My husband can’t eat dairy, wheat, or refined sugar, so I have learned to enjoy experimentation and creativity! We shared a house with a personal chef who specialized in alternative diets, so that was a wonderfully helpful start to our journey.
Though we try to cook everything from scratch, it’s helpful to have items like Dr. Sears for when we’re traveling, or when I’m enjoying morning sickness like I have been for the last month
I’m interested in trying the Cool Fuel product.
For those of you who are interested in taking more baby steps towards healthier cooking, there’s an awesome website launching soon called Recipe Rx. You enter in your food sensitivities, special diet, or health conditions, and it will give you a list of recipes you can drag and drop into a calendar. And it will give you a shopping list based on the ingredients in your kitchen. I think there’s also going to be a health 101 class kind of thing. I cant wait until the full version is launched! I tried the beta, and was really excited. It looks like the launch date has been pushed back. I think it’s http://www.reciperx.com

I’m in group 1.5. Some days it’s so hard to stick to my guns because the not-natural, not-at-all healthy “food” can be so much easier! Not to mention hormone-free, antibiotic-free, organic costs 2-3 times as much, especially in a small town with a limited selection of those products.
I’d love to try the fruit chews.

I would say that I am a 3. I would love to be a 2 but a working mom of two kids and a husband that is gone a lot for work it is hard to just keep my head above the water on day to day tasks.
I try to make sure my 5 year old and soon will worry about my 1 year old eating the right stuff but sometimes when the organic stuff costs more it is hard to do that.
I would be interested in the fruit chews.

I’d be in group #2 as well, and I’d love to try the fruit chews.

I’m a group #1 member. My husband is a chiropractor & as a kid he and his family had a LOT of health issues due to living in a ’sick’ house. There was sewer gas back up, mold, chemical leakage from the basement, etc. They finally had testing done to confirm that it was really thier house that was causing the problem. After seeking medical help & getting no results and more & more frustrated they sought out a more natural approach. It was a God-sent chiropractor that did nutrional testing to replenish their bodies w/whole food nutrition and they finally became well again. With all that being said, I’d LOVE to win & try out Dr. Sears’ products! Thanks!

I think I’m a 2. And I’m really interested in the Cool Fuel. My daughter is 5 and in Kindergarten but she dances several hours per week. That would be a perfect snack for her to keep her energy up after a long day of school and going into dance classes!

I would put myself between 1 and 2. I have learned a lot already thanks to a great wholistic group I am part of, but there is still so much to learn and improve upon. I would most like to try the fruit chews. I feel good giving them to my kids every day knowing i am helping to build their brains.

I’m actually between group #2 and #3. There are some healthy things we try to do ourselves. I agree though.. I’m not sure I have the time and my head may explode if I have to try and learn more!
The Omega 3 fruit chews are of the most interest to me. We are always looking for products without artificial anything. How great!
Thanks!

I fall into #1. I’ve been into natural remedies since I was a teen and have been reading up on it ever since. I like the look of the Omega-3 DHA Fruit Chews. They sound yummy for me and my daughter!
