Yo Gabba Gabba Birthday Party | Leave a comment

By Ashley Devonish | Category: Family Focus, Surprize Me!, The Journey of Motherhood

I know I am a little late in posting these but I threw my son a Yo Gabba Gabba party for his 2nd birthday a couple weeks ago. We had a ton of fun. We held the party at Sugar Creek Baptist Church, they have an amazing indoor playground that you can rent out for parties. Considering we had Dominic’s 1st birthday party at our house, this birthday was incredibly easy and non stressful. :-) Hope you enjoy the pictures. We had a ton of friends and family show up. Dominic had a blast and got more gifts than I know what to do with.

I made the invitations myself, I cut out 5×7 rectangles using silver scrapbook paper and then printed out and cut the shapes of DJ Lance’s boom box.

I decided to keep it simple this year. The cake was the most amazing cake ever! It was so yummy. Big thank you to Carrie Made the Cake here in Houston. If you need a cake, she does an amazing job!

Here are the party favors. I just did squirt bottles and Beanie Babies. The Beanie Babies were a huge hit! I had trouble keeping them on the table for very long.

I did really simple food: pizza, fruit, cupcakes, cookies and cake. Viola!

Dominic loved that slide!

DJ Lance in the house!

Mom and dad really blew out the candles but that’s okay because I am pretty sure the guests did not want Dominic’s spit all over the cake.

Successful party! Birthday boy was exhausted :-) Happy Birthday baby!

Baby Bump – 17 Weeks | Leave a comment

By Ashley Devonish | Category: Baby Bump, Products, Surprize Me!, The Journey of Motherhood

How far along? 17.5 Weeks
Maternity clothes? Yes for the most part, I just find them comfortable. I think that all jeans should be made with an elastic band, maternity or not!
Stretch marks? No and here is to praying I don’t get any
Sleep: I have been having some rather vivid and weird dreams lately but other than that sleep is okay
Best moment this week: Doing our gender ultrasound!!!! :-)
Miss Anything? I miss not having to pee every 10 minutes
Movement: still just a little movement, not feeling the full blow kicks yet
Food cravings: I have had a sweet tooth this week (which is unusual for me when I am pregnant)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada.
Have you started to show yet: yes I definitely feel bigger this week
Gender: BOY!!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :-)
Looking forward to:  celebrating Father’s Day this weekend
Products I am loving this week:  All throughout my first trimester and still to this day, I have been using my Belly Armor Belly Band. It keeps the potentially damaging radiation from getting to the baby. Before getting pregnant, I never thought about the radiation we get from our cell phones, laptops, computers, etc. And although we don’t really know the full effects of radiation yet on pregnancy, I know that I don’t want to chance it. You wear the Belly Armor Belly Band just like you would any other band. It’s so easy and I just like I am protecting my baby because literally I am using technology all day every day. You can even test the band out to make sure it is stopping radiation, all you have to do is wrap your cell phone in the band and watch your signal bars fade away. So you will continue to see me use my Belly Armor belly band throughout my pregnancy. And I really can’t recommend it enough, they also offer a Belly Armor blanket or full t-shirt if those options fit your lifestyle better.

You can get your Belly Armor Belly Band right here. And this week only, they are on sale for $56.99 (originally $66.99) and free shipping!

Gender Reveal…..It’s a | Leave a comment

By Ashley Devonish | Category: Baby Bump, The Journey of Motherhood

We are so excited!!! Another boy. I was wanted two of the same regardless of whether they were girls or boys. I have to say that I am a little relieved that it is a boy because that means I dont have to buy new things. I already have everything for boys and can just hand down Dominic’s used clothes and toys. I am also a little bit apprehensive since I grew up with nothing but sisters.  Regardless of that, my husband is beyond thrilled. He is a super sports fanatic so I know there will be many sporting events and dirty laundry in my future! So it looks like I am still the queen of this household!

My Favorite Diaper Bags | Leave a comment

By Ashley Devonish | Category: Favorite Lists, Products, Surprize Me!, The Journey of Motherhood
One of the first things I was most excited about when I got pregnant was picking out my diaper bag! It’s like for the first time ever, you’re allowed to buy an expensive, really large purse… and be totally justified.
Here are a few diaper bags I love:
Marc Jacobs Core Prett Eliz-a-Baby $298
This is the one that I bought when pregnant with Dominic (and will use again with the new baby) I just love the color and how large it is. Have no complaints except the outside does stain a little easily.
Here is a great on the go clutch if you don’t like to carry huge bags around. Comes with a diaper changer and is roomy enough to put a few other small items in.
Skip Hop Versa Bag $65
If you can’t tell already, I love bags that don’t look like diaper bags. This bag is super fashion forward but really functional as well.
Tady Tote – Diaper bag and playmat in one $65
This bag looks more like a traditional diaper bag but it does so much more. It actually completely unfolds to a playmat for your baby. Here is a pic in case you didn’t believe me. Plus there is plenty of room for extra goodies and bottles.
Petunia Pickle Bottom Satchel $175
This bag has some serious style. It is not only gorgeous but also very roomy. Nobody would even know this was a diaper bag. It is a bit pricey but if you use it for multiple children it may not be so bad.
Pottery Barn Kids Gray Classic Tote $119
I love this bag because guys would have no problem holding it. It looks very neutral and classic. I also really like that it can be monogrammed and the leather trim on the hand makes this bag very Hampton looking to me.
I hope you love these bags as much as I do. Feel free to comment below on some of your favorites.

Baby Bump – 16 Weeks | Leave a comment

By Ashley Devonish | Category: Baby Bump, The Journey of Motherhood

How far along? 16.5 Weeks
Maternity clothes? Still just rockin’ the leggings & sweats most days but I did buy a pair of maternity jeans and they are so comfy!!! So I might covert full time to maternity clothes soon.
Stretch marks? No – I swear by Mama Mio’s Tummy oil. Used it religiously with my first and never got one stretch mark, hope it works again!
Sleep: Sleep is so-so. I have a toddler who never sleeps so it makes sleeping hard. Hey at least I will be ready for the lack of sleep with a newborn. Trying to find the silver lining here…
Best moment this week: celebrating my son Dominic’s second birthday!!!
Miss Anything? A very dirty martini and bloody mary’s. I thought I would miss coffee but I don’t have a taste for it since I have been pregnant
Movement: just a little, it comes and goes but nothing consistent just yet.
Food cravings: I don’t think I really crave anything. I guess if anything it would be citrus flavors, especially green apples and green grapes
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada.
Have you started to show yet: yes but I still think I am at the phase where people question if I just put on a few pounds or if I am pregnant
Gender: we find out next week (but I have a feeling in my heart, I think I know what it is :-)
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :-)
Looking forward to:  officially finding out the gender next week
Products I am loving this week: Definitely loving my Anna’s Naturals Keep it Down Natural Tea. I am fortunate not to have too much morning sickness with either of my pregnancies, but this tea is so refreshing that I love drinking it. It also is so flavorful that I dont have to add any sweetner at all. It is caffeine free and all natural. And now that is hot outside, I will brew a huge pitcher full and then make it into iced tea and drink it throughout the day. Love it!!!!!

You can get your Keep it Down tea right here.

Stayed tuned next week for the 17 week baby bump post and the gender reveal.
