Calling guest bloggers!

By mom4life | Category: The Journey of Motherhood

I have a running list of “to-do’s” in my head that I keep meaning to jot down or take action on.  At least 5 of these to-do’s are blog posts that are just floating around in my cranium.  For example:

  • I want to tell you about the amazing flourless black bean brownies that I just recently made from Kitchen Stewardship’s ebook called The Everything Beans book (seriously, they are great and everyone in our family gave them a thumbs up).
  • I am excited to share my latest steps and improvements toward simplification as I continue to work through Tsh Oxenreider’s ebook, One Bite at a Time: 52 Projects for Making Life Simpler.  (I am getting up earlier each morning and have virtually eliminated paper waste in our kitchen.)
  • And I want to update you on the fact that with your help, our family earned enough money for not just one water well (which was our goal) but TWO (THANK YOU)!

For now the cliff notes version will have to suffice, but perhaps the full extended versions will show up in the future.

At this current stage, blogging is an enjoyable activity, but one that I only make time for when I have time for it. As much as I would love to have fresh content everyday, it simply isn’t practical or healthy for me to make that happen. However, I have been thinking that perhaps some of you also enjoy writing and sharing things that you are learning and would enjoy being a contributing guest blogger here.  I encourage you to pray about it and if you would like to contribute to our blog (either on a regular or occasional basis), please click here and fill out the short survey.

For the rest of you, thanks for your willingness to “hang in there” as a loyal reader despite the fact that my posts are not as frequent as I would like!  I feel honored to share this journey with you and want you to know how fun it is for me whenever you take time to leave a comment on one of my posts.

Please note: Both ebooks mentioned above include an affiliate link.  I would never suggest a book or service that I have not either personally tried or fully believe you would benefit from.

  1. Hi Heather,
    More than a year ago, I won a long sleeve, black Tomat Sooo…. New York t-shirt on the Friday giveaway. Knowing the road that lay ahead, I ordered a 3T even though my twin girls were not even a year old. In the months that followed, we moved back to our mud brick home in West Africa. Out in rugged bush country, our home is at the end of the paved road; an entire day’s drive from the capital. We draw our water from wells and wash our laundry by hand. The Tomat shirt has lasted almost a year of hand washing and hanging in the scorching African sun. The color has not faded and the decal has yet to crack or show signs of wear. Africa is really hard on people. It’s even harsher on clothing. I am really impressed with the quality and durability of the Tomat shirt. In a time when waste is not an option, I believe that money spent on the Tomat line will be a wise investment. Thank you, Mom4Life for the giveaway, and thank you Tomat for quality clothing that lasts!

    @Momoftwingirls, wow what a wonderful review! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. Do you mind if I share your review on FB or our blog? I would also love to share it with the mom inventor, I am sure she would be thrilled to hear your experience. On another note, what brought you to West Africa?

    @mom4life,
    Sure, you can share the review where ever you like.
    My husband and I serve as missionaries in West Africa among a majority people group. It’s amazing, and while it is a very difficult life, I wouldn’t change my calling for anything. I have the best “job” in the world!
    Love reading your blog and using your products!

    @Momoftwingirls, Thanks! I love hearing what you are doing. Our family would love to come to Africa some day if/when God leads. I pray He continues to bless your work there.
