This is me: 6 more quirky facts
By Heather Ledeboer | Category: The Journey of Motherhood
As a follow up to my previous post, I am back to share more of my dirty laundry (more on that below).
- I have a little pet peeve about facebook status updates that are so cryptic, you can’t understand them unless you ask for more details. Such as, “Finally, it is finished!” or “These kind of things make me SO mad!”. Can’t they just give the info all up front? Why do people make you ASK them for more details about something that they seemed to want to share to begin with?!
- Since my last “quirky facts” post I have cleaned out my fridge AND wiped down the shelves!
- When doing laundry, I put off washing the whites as long as possible. It is without fail the most time consuming load to fold (blame it on the socks). To try to balance this, I avoid wearing socks but it doesn’t seem to help.
- Emptying the trash is one of my least favorite things to do. I will shove the trash down farther in the bag and keep stuffing it and stuffing it silently hoping my husband will notice how full it is and feel compelled to take it out. This wish is granted often enough to keep my hopes up and my trash compacting hands shoving down.
- The only thing that tops my distaste for emptying the trash is emptying the dishwasher. You would think that handling clean dishes would be more appealing than filling it with dirty ones but nope, I don’t like it one bit. When my husband surprises me with an empty dishwasher I get a little giddy inside.
- I recently thought about buying a sports bra. I realized that I haven’t owned one since collage and then realized that I have been out of collage for 10 years (how did that happen!) So anyway, I guess my lack of exercise undergarments might clue you in on how often I exercise. . .
Your turn! Click on the “Share your thoughts” link below and share a tid-bit about you to make us all feel better about ourselves, just don’t be cryptic;)!

@jenny, Sounds like cleaning the counters helps you keep them clean!
Public smoking gets me when it is right near where kids are and they don’t seem concerned about it at all. . . !

How weird am I? Let’s see: I will only sleep on the side of the bed that is furthest from the door, there has to be a pillow at every edge, I still sleep with a stuff kangaroo that I’ve had since I was 6, I’d rather sweep and mop the floor than wash dishes, I wash all the undies and socks separately in their own load, and I hate driving. These are a few of my quirks. I know I’m strange I’m fine with it!

@Julie, Oh and by the way, I asked for your “quirks” not things that make you “weird” cause there is a total difference and you my dear have cute quirks (although not liking driving likely has its downfalls every now and again).

You need to teach Hunter how to unload the dishwasher. He might be a little young yet, but man oh man, it’s lifechanging. Now when I say “Boys, you need to unload!” They come running and get it done in five minutes flat, with Haydn doing the dishes and Greyson the silverware. Haydn leaves the stuff that goes up on the very top shelves or that he deems “dangerous” and I put those things away. You would be amazed at how many things can be classified as dangerous.

I read both this post and the previous one this morning, and it gave me the motivation I needed to clean out a packed cabinet in the kitchen and my fridge
I also hate doing it! And unloading the dishwasher is such a pain! Quirky facts: I don’t like driving home from somewhere on the same route I took to get there and I don’t like eating leftovers (unless it was really yummy the first time).

@Renee, oh well see that makes me feel SUPER good about sharing my quirks (that it helped motivate you to get something done) how great is that!
I bet you really know your way around town if you are going and coming via different routes!
