Vinyl complications and mosquito tests

By mom4life | Category: The Journey of Motherhood

Hey mamas! It has been a while since I have written a “fresh” blog post. I think I am about ready to open the door to blogging again. We are having a ton of fun around here with new baby Tanner.  And lucky for you his presence creates a slew of new blog material.  I am making a list of all the dumb absent mom minded things I have been doing lately so stay tuned.  Here is a warm-up. . .

Deciding our vinyl “Mom 4 Life” banner gracing the back of our van window was getting a little too tattered (i.e. it might have been driving traffic AWAY from our site it looked so shabby) I ordered a brand new one from Inspire Your Walls.  Unfortunately, we neglected to follow the application directions and totally ruined the sticky lettering.  The good news is that the logo was salvaged.  The bad news is that the Mom 4 Life logo is not yet quite as recognizable as the Nike swoosh so although cute, I am afraid I don’t have a very good chance of enticing new visitors to my site with my new window design.

I tested out our Loving Naturals Insect Repellant in the grove of my in-laws Minnesota home during a recent visit.  Since I was wearing my Moby Wrap baby carrier at the time, I decided it could do double duty for me and I wrapped it around my head (which had not been sprayed with bug repellant).  My daughter who was along with me, took a photo to capture my stylish look.

She also captured some additional flattering family photos of my mother-in-law and my husband.

Speaking of stylish, tell me this is not the cutest thing you have ever seen.  Here I am with my mother-in-law wearing our matching Mom 4 Life t-shirts, Croc shoes and Honda Odyssey vans:

During our drive home from Minnesota, I realized I had neglected to leave the house wearing nursing pads so when my milk suddenly came in, I stuffed my nursing bra with a pair of socks—not too flattering, but effective in a pinch.  Too bad I forgot to take them out when we were at the gas station and I went in to get a snack!

Have any fun tid-bits to share from your week?  I’ll be back with more soon. . .

  1. It’s always a relief to find out that the women behind the amazing online businesses are “normal” too. ;)

@Christy @ Raising Knights, Yes, we are “normal” (more or less;) ) around here. I know what you mean, that is something I have loved about making the review videos and getting video footage of the mom inventors shot in their living room and I can see “hey, they are just like me!”

  2. He he! I love it! So glad you are back to posting! I have done crazier things when I have forgotten breast pads. ;) I hope you get the vinyl on your vehicle all worked out.

  3. Okay, those pictures of you and your mother-in-law in matching outfits had me laughing so hard Jarrod shouted at me “Would you be quiet! I can’t hear the news!” That is seriously…… one of the best things I’ve seen this year.

Is THAT why the Harley guy asked if you were a single mom?! I had no idea you had removed your sticker until today, so if you did indeed have just that on your van his question suddenly makes SO MUCH more sense. Thanks for the giggles.

@Kira @ Kissing the Joy, Glad to bring you some laughs (and tell Jarrod to lighten up would ya?;) ) And yes that is why the Harley guy had no idea it was a logo for my website. Trent thinks it is about time to order another vinyl set:).
